It's August. The days are long and warm. A light breeze blowing off the water cools the sculpted shoreline. Slabs of polished rock radiate heat from the mid-day sun. The sky is liquid blue. As Mariya looks out over the rippled water her senses come alive. She feels the warmth of her skin. She hears the gentle rhythm of waves lapping at her feet. It's summer in Russia. Life is good.
